On September 28 the Stobart Coca-Cola Kidscape Party will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Acts booked to perform on the night include Westlife and the Sugababes.

A host of undisclosed celebrities will also be attending the event and OK magazine will be taking snaps for a future issue.

Tables for this event are not on sale yet and will not be going on sale to the general public.

A charity auction took place at the annual fundraising day in aid of local children's charities on the 13th annual Stobart Celebrity Golf Classic at Carlisle Golf Club teeing earlier this year. The top prize of the day was the chance to book an exclusive table for ten people at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday, September 28for the Stobart Coca-Cola Kidscape Party.

I WAS at the Westlife concert with my 11-year-old daughter who has grown up her entire life with ‘daddy’s maritime festivals and tall ship visits’ only to hear her exclaim at the end of the concert: “No offence, dad, but that was better than anything you’ve done!”

To be fair, she is 11 and a girl at that so perhaps pirate ships and air displays are not quite her forte but even I had to admit (secretly) to being dazzled by the boy band on Sunday.

Bitts Park is an incredible venue, the acts were fabulous and the crowd lapped it up.

How lucky Carlisle and Cumbria are to have a philanthropic company such as Stobarts on their doorstep.

Andrew Tinkler should be proud of himself and his team, even if they did usurp the last 10 years of my life in my daughter’s eyes.

Those words “no offence dad” will hang for a long time to come!

Well done to all concerned but watch this space for Whitehaven.
