‘We’re Good Boys, But We’ve All Been Tempted!’

The Westlife boys chat to Look about Love and naked groupies… and we thought they were such nice boys!

You’re all happily coupled up now, but how do you cope with fans throwing themselves at you?
Nicky: You have to make sure you’re not away from your partner for too long or temptation will get the better of you. I’m sure we’ve all been tempted.

What the maddest thing a girl has done to get close to you?
Nicky: When we were in Mexico a few years back, a girl hid in Brian’s hotel room and when he came back she was lying on his bed naked!
Kian: A couple of years ago in Dublin a fan broke into our dressing room and nicked our underwear!

With so much temptation, how do you keep the romance alive in your relationships?
Mark: My boyfriend Kevin likes making cards for me. He’s very artistic and creative.
Shane: I always try and surprise Gillian by leaving romantic notes around the house when I’m away. You have to make special occasions like Valentine’s Day really great.

What’s been your best Valentine’s Day?
Shane: The first year I was married we were away on tour, so I flew Gillian over to the UK and got the hotel concierge to fill our room with candles and flowers.
Kian: My girlfriend Jodi [Albert] and I had the penthouse suite at the Clarence Hotel in Dublin and I had candles laid out for us when we arrived. We sat in the hot tub outside drinking champagne.

And your worst Valentine’s?
Kian: One year I booked what looked like a gorgeous castle. But it was an old ruin with Lurch from the Addams Family carrying our bags! I was being picked up at 5am the next morning and Jodi said: “You can’t expect me to stay here on my own!”

Ok, ‘fess up – what’s the most rock ‘n’ roll thing you’ve ever done?
Mark: I was made to leave the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles for chucking furniture out of the window. I was drunk and it was before I came out – I just needed to let off steam.
Nicky: I once had a few too many the night before and threw up on a private plane on the way to a gig. I spewed up everywhere.

You’ve managed to stay scandal-free – are there any skeletons lurking in the closet?
Nicky: The two best-kept secrets in Westlife were that Shane had a girlfriend and that Mark was gay. Thank God it’s out now.

You all look great at the minute – is there any competition to see who can be the buffest?
Shane: It’s definitely me, isn’t it?
Nicky: Dream on – it’s me the girls love!

So no competitive working out then…
Shane: I’m very conscious of my weight and there have been times when I’ve hated looking at myself.
Mark: I piled on the pounds a few years ago on tour but now I avoid junk food.
Shane: I’m so glad we’re not a girl band!
Kian: It seems women nowadays think unless they’re a size 6 then they’re not pretty. It’s sad. You look at women like Beyonce and J-Lo and they’re beautiful and sexy. They’ve got nice curves and big arses! [Everyone laughs.]

Do the Westlife WAGs get on?
Nicky: They spend so much time together on the road they’re like a family, but we have to add in the Westlife babies and boyfriend too. We call them the Waggabies!
Kian: Jodi and Brian McFadden’s fiancée Delta Goodrem are best friends. Delta’s a sweetheart.

So are you hoping for an invite to Brian’s wedding?
Kian: If we’re invited we’ll go!

Now you’re celebrating 10 years together, do you miss Brian?
Mark: I sometimes get flashbacks of what it was like with him. It’s hard to explain. I can’t remember the feel of him [laughs].
Shane: Brian’s a great guy. He would give you the shirt off his back. He wanted to do his own thing and we couldn’t stop him.

What about a reunion with Brian?
Kian: Last summer, Brian said to me: “Come on man, ring the band and ring Louis Walsh,” and I said: “Man, you’re never going to be in Westlife again. Accept it!” I think he was only joking.

Are you all on Facebook?
Nicky: There’s someone on there claiming to be me.
Mark: We’ve got alleged MySpace and Bebo accounts.
Shane: I’d honestly not heard of Facebook until now.
Mark: Shane doesn’t even know how to email!

What’s on your iPods?
Kian: About 4.942 tracks the last time I looked at it.
Mark: Britney’s latest album. It’s brilliant. I love Robyn too.
Shane: Timbaland and Britney – my daughter loves ‘Gimme More’. She shakes her bum to it.
Nicky: I’ve been driving a lot and turning into an album Mark bought me, The Beatles Hits For Kids. We’ve also got another album of kids’ music like ‘The Wheels On The Bus’ [Nicky and Shane launch into kids’ songs]

You’re taking a year’s break from music soon – what are your plans?
Shane: We’ll have an album out at the end of next year but we want to find amazing songs. We don’t want to do as many covers.
Mark: I’ll be traveling.
Kian: So will I. You’ll find me in a beach hut in Indonesia!

Westlife’s new single ‘Us Against The World’ is released on 25 Feb. Their Back Home arena tour kicks off on the same day.

THE Macdonald Brothers have been picked by Louis Walsh to support Westlife on their UK tour.

And the boys, who release With Love, a limited edition album of acoustic Celtic love songs on Monday, can't wait to get back out on the road later this month.

Craig told the Razz: "We spoke with Louis and he was more than happy for us to do the whole tour with the guys.

"We did the Scots and Irish dates last year straight after The X Factor tour and he and the band were very supportive.

"We're hoping to get to know Westlife better this time as we have 22 dates with them, so there might be a bit of partying."

Westlife were at the Alan Titchmarsh Show yesterday pre-recording for next Monday's show and they said the release date for 'Us Against The World' is now 3 March 2008.

It was also mentioned that the video for 'Us Against The World' will be aired before next Monday's Alan Titchmarsh Show so we should have it by Friday yay!

NOTE: Question 21 has been removed because of an error – Nicky is indeed a Libra (thank you to IRISHPUPPIES for pointing it out first). This was a silly mistake on our part and we apologise. The only way to keep the competition fair (for those who completed the quiz before the change) was to delete the question and score the total out of 49 instead of 50.

Good news for Westlife's new single 'Us Against The World' as it moved up 37 positions in the UK Airplay chart, the chart with the songs that are played most on the UK radio stations!

'Us Against The World' is at No.36 up from last week's No.73 in the Airplay chart.

Make sure you will keep requesting the song on your local radio stations and hopefully it will be even higher next week!!
