With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, our next poll is Irish-themed. We want to know which pop star from the Emerald Isle you'd most like to see the boys duet with: head to the poll to have your say!

Post Of The Week: Week 5
by Villy on 09 Mar 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
For the latest Post Of The Week discussion, we want to know about the friendships you've made through being a Westlife fan. Maybe you've got to know lots of new people on the forum, or have got chatting to other fans at a concert. Perhaps a shared love of Westlife has brought you and a work colleague or school friend closer! Let us know over in the forum now.

Last week, we asked what your favourite piece of Westlife merchandise is. We also wanted to know what new piece of merchandise you'd like to bring out. Our members came up with some great answers, which you can read in the forum. Here's one of our favourites, from Fiona1.

"I have two favourites, 1. The Westlife mug, the black one with a W on and when you put a hot drink into it, it shows up as 'Westlife', I look forward to every cup of tea! ha ha. 2. Has to be the programmes, the Back Home tour stepped up a notch though, with its plastic pages covered in notes by the lads and fantastic pictures. I always look forward to reading the interviews as they give an insight as to what they have been up to since the last tour.

If we could have a new piece of merchandise I would ask for a usb wrist band with the concert audio on (the pussycat dolls had one for this years tour and went down a treat!) We have never had something with just quality audio from a concert (aside from the dvd)."

Post Of The Week: Week 4
by Villy on 02 Mar 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
Here's this week's brand-new topic: what's your favourite piece of Westlife merchandise? And if they could launch a brand new item, what would you like it to be? Join in the debate over in the forum now.

Last week, we asked which song you'd most like the boys to cover. Our forum members came up with some really varied and interesting suggestions, which you can read here. This is one of our favourite posts, by Jo5269.

"I've been wracking my brain about this one. There are so many amazing songs out there and the lads are so brilliant that I honestly think they could make "mary had a little lamb" sound out of this world.

But what would I love to hear them sing? Something with a rock edge, but still ballady - so I'm going with Always by Bon Jovi. I think it would suit their voices, especially Nickys..."

Westlife busy working on charts comeback
by Villy on 26 Feb 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
By Melanie Finn, Showbusiness Editor

Music mogul Louis Walsh has revealed how Westlife are busy plotting to attack the Charts after a year out of the spotlight.

He told the Herald that the foursome wanted to score a sensational comeback when they return in June. As well as performing at least two dates in Croke Park, the stars want to launch a determined attack on the charts.

"The guys are all really enjoying their time out. It was great for them to spend time with their families and concentrate on their private lives," he said. "But they love performing and can't wait to get back on stage again."

The X Factor judge, who was last week named the Mayo Man of the Year, explained how he met Simon Cowell recently to jointly mastermind Westlife's return.

He has already picked out at least three new songs for the guys which he reckons would prove instant hits.

And despite going for the same teeny-bopper audience, Louis dismissed claims that the group could face some competition from former Take That star Robbie Williams. After years in the wilderness, the British singer is back on the scene after returning from LA.

"The guys aren't worried about the competition -- they reckon they would still outsell him any day," he added.

The band will record their new album in June and reveal their 2010 tour dates. In May band member Kian Egan will swap vows in Barbados with fiancee Jodi Albert.

Post Of The Week: Week 3
by Villy on 23 Feb 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
The next Post Of The Week topic is this: which non-Westlife song would you most like to see the band perform and why? Head over to the discussion thread in the forum to join the debate, and if your post is our favourite we'll display it here on westlife.com next week.

Last week's discussion was about what you'd like to dress the boys in. We had loads of great suggestions, which you can check out in the forum now. Here's one of the ones we enjoyed most, by Bolton_Baby.

"I'd love to see shane in a nice pair of dark jeans with some black etnie trainers with a small pattern on the side. A fitted black t shirt with a pattern on the front and a nice cardi not buttoned up just on loosely or a smart casual jacket. Or some cream baggy combats with plenty of pockets. A white fitted t shirt and a reali nice hoody with a cool funky pattern on the front and some nice DC trainers in white. I love men in suits but i love more when there dressed in a reali nice casual outfit. Shane would look so gorgeous in that. He always does anyway."

Post Of The Week: Week 2
by Villy on 17 Feb 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
Thanks to all of you who submitted your funny Westlife stories for last week's Post of the Week topic. Below is one of our favourites, posted by Schnickyrock. To read all the other great stories or join in the chat, head to the forum.

Here's this week's topic: If you could dress a member of Westlife for the day, what would you put him in? Have your say in the dedicated forum thread.

"I took my nan to the Croke Park DVD screening in Birmingham in November. She's a Westtlife fan and has seen all the DVD's after borrowing them off me but has never been to see them in concert. Anyway whenever the camera focused on ANY of the boys, my nan piped up with "He's my favourite", "no actually he's my favourite" and this carried on throughout the whole screening, which made me giggle!

I still don't know which one's her favourite, although I think she quite likes Shane, but bless her she is 84 and she loved going to the DVD screening and it's the closest she's probably ever gonna get to seeing the boys live! She was talking about it for days afterwards!"

A Message From Westlife About Social Networks
by Villy on 12 Feb 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
Westlife have written a very important message that they'd like all their fans to read.

Hi everyone

We’re aware that there are quite a few people out there pretending to be us on sites like Bebo, Myspace and Facebook. Please, please, please remember that we do NOT have personal profiles on any of these sites, so don’t start chatting to these people and definitely don’t give them any personal details. You can get to our official band pages using the links below.

If you come across any fake profiles please send a link to Lou, the admin on the forum. And if you’re ever worried about info you’ve given out to people online or want some advice then there’s a really useful website that we’d recommend called www.thinkuknow.co.uk , so check it out.

Love
Nicky, Shane, Kian & Mark xx

Valentine's Competition Winner
by Villy on 11 Feb 2009 • DISCUSS ON FORUM
Thanks to everyone who entered the Valentine's ‘Roses are red' poetry competition, we had a great time reading through all your entries.

The lucky winner is Jo, whose brilliant poem has won her a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Westlife, to be delivered on Valentine's Day! We've also picked four of our other favourites as runners-up - well done to all of you.

Read all the rest of the entries.

**Jo** (winner)

Roses are red and I have to admit
I own THE perfect vase into which some would fit.
So when my door bell starts ringing this Valentines morn
I'll act all surprised but forgive me my scorn
The guy hands me my flowers ‘The biggest bunch of the day'
He looks for the label and continues to say
‘They're gorgeous. Your lucky. From husband to wife?'
I'll reply ‘Nah don't be stupid! It says ‘Love from Westlife'

nickyisgod_TB (runner-up)

Roses are Red, I'd love to win some from you
On my window sill they would sit full bloom in full view
I'd water them, feed them and smile at them daily
And read the message card over and over "Dear Tracey"

But one day the flowers will welter and die
But I won't be sad and I won't cry
I'll just remember and think to myself
Your one lucky girl to have won flowers from WESTLIFE.

Helifoster (runner-up)

Roses are red,

Westlife are fab,
Me and my mum love them like mad!

I love Nicky,

She loves Shane,
We have been to see them again and again.

Although I would love Westlife flowers at my door,
This is for my mum as she deserves them more.

Rachel_mc4 (runner-up)

Roses are red,
The 14th is near.
So lads just enjoy it,
With those you hold dear.
The fans all miss you,
"10 more years" we sang.
So relax and be happy,
Then come back with a bang.

westlife fanatic (runner-up)

Roses are red and we are all so blue
as you've gone for a break and we're waiting for you
you've given us 10 years so you deserve a rest
but bring back the sound that we love best
so while i'll await for your long return
Please send me some flowers marked from Shane Mark Kian and of course the Byrne!
