A Camp Sight In Belfast – Gay Pride Betting 1 Aug
This Saturday the 19th gay pride parade takes place in Belfast and Paddy Power are offering a colourful range of special bets on the main event of this week’s celebration.

Iris Robinson, who made controversial comments about homosexuals, was well represented last year in the form of a float, but this year she’s tipped to appear in person with Paddy Power offering odds of 10/1 for Mrs Robinson to be protesting at the event, 18/1 to take part in the celebrations and 100/1 to be leading the parade.

The outgoing Chief Constable of the PSNI, Sir Hugh Orde, is quite short odds with Paddy Power to be spotted at the celebrations, at 6/4, and along with the Robinsons there is also betting on what other politicians will be taking part. In joint favourite position is Bairbre De Brun and Martin McGuinness at 9/4, Gerry Adams and Mark Durkin are 3/1 where the TUV’s Jim Allister is dragging behind at 4/1.

Paddy Power is also betting on what celebrities will be there, and Westlife’s Mark Feehily is a 7/4 shot, Stephen Gately from Boyzone is 2/1 and pushing up the rear at 20/1 is Elton John and David Furnish.

Paddy Power said; ‘As these celebrations get bigger each year, it attracts more celebs and public figures, and if our punters want to bet on who’ll be there, we’ll facilitate it. It mightn’t be everybody’s cup of tea but as the sponsors of the Gay Rugby World Cup this parade is right up our alley.

Which celebrities will be there?

7/4 Mark Feehily
2/1 Stephen Gately
3/1 Julian Clarey
4/1 Alan Carr
5/1 Michael Barrymore
8/1 John Barroman
10/1 Paul O’Grady
10/1 Stephen Fry
12/1 Will Young
14/1 Graham Norton
20/1 Elton John and David Furnish
